Malaysia Airlines Adds Third Daily Kuala Lumpur–Doha Flight from 30 June
Malaysia Airlines introduces its third daily non-stop service between Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and Hamad International Airport in Doha from 30 June 2026, raising its weekly frequency on the route to 21 flights. The addition creates one of the most frequent airline schedules between Southeast Asia and the Gulf, benefiting both point-to-point passengers and those using Doha as a connection hub.
The route matters beyond the bilateral market. Malaysia Airlines and Qatar Airways operate under a codeshare arrangement, meaning the additional capacity at Doha opens a broader range of onward connections to Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Travellers departing from Kuala Lumpur now have three daily departure windows to Doha rather than two, with improved scheduling flexibility for passengers making intercontinental connections.
The new frequency aligns with Malaysia’s Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign, which set a target of 43 million international arrivals for the year. Malaysia welcomed 10.6 million visitors in the first quarter alone, and the Gulf corridor has been identified as a priority growth market given the high proportion of Malaysian-registered travellers transiting through Doha.
For travellers arriving via KLIA, Malaysia Airlines operates connections to regional destinations including Penang and gateways for Borneo. Passengers from Langkawi and other domestic hubs can connect to the expanded Doha schedule through a single KLIA transfer.
Passengers flying through KLIA should check current congestion updates; the airport experienced notable holiday crowds through the first week of June. Standard check-in advice for international departures at KLIA Terminal 1 is to arrive at least three hours before the flight.
